Circus Tents and Rollercoasters
35 degrees to 80 degrees, sunny and clear to over two inches of rain… rollercoaster shifts make it hard to know how to plan for the weather these days. That goes for farming (we have loads of frost sensitive plants in the ground at this point in the season) and for events like pizza night. It’s a good thing we have a circus tent for pizza night this week. We will have plenty of seats under the big top if things continue to look rainy. But then again - it could clear up!
On the rollercoaster theme - Margaret had to head to Western New York on Monday and Tuesday to care for her 96 year old mom so there will be no Farm to Take out this week. The good eats will return next week. Promise.
We will be harvesting, lettuce mix, kale, rainbow chard, broccolini, greenhouse cukes, rhubarb and asparagus this week.
As always, we have a full selection of our pastured meats, eggs, local milk, yogurt and cheeses plus goodies galore from Marilyn's Kitchen. Jonathan's bread is back in stock every Saturday morning and we have a new farm-made sourdough sandwich loaf that we are baking Wednesday - come try one ! These loaves will be fresh out of the oven mid day on Wednesday.
Reservations are open for PIZZA NIGHT. We welcome Timber mash this week -progressive acoustic quartet rooted but not limited to bluegrass and old time music. With a diverse repertoire of everything from classic punchy bluegrass with tight harmonies to heavily improvised takes on rock classics, Timbermash puts on a show that is sure to catch the attention of folk, bluegrass and americana fans alike.
To make a reservation call the farm or email me back here with pizza night in the subject line.
We will be back at the Chelsea Farmer’s Market on Friday from 3pm-6pm. Come say hi to Luke!
We look forward to seeing you all soon!
