Delicious Lists
It’s the time of the year when everyone on the farm has SO MANY LISTS of things to do - planting seeds, transplanting baby plants, preparing the pastures for the sheep and the brooders for the chicks… it’s daunting. But every week we also get to draw up the harvest list. Walking through the high tunnels this week to decide what goes on that list we found the first ripe, red radishes peeking out of the ground. It was a reminder that our lists can be long but they are all about delicious, local, seasonal food. Cheers to another season of good eats - looking forward to it!
In addition to radishes we will be harvesting baby spinach, baby lettuce mix, arugula, and tatsoi. We will also have a sale on cooking spinach - it’s gorgeous with sweet flavor and huge leaves but we need the space for tomatoes so we are selling bulk bags. Freeze it or make spanakopita! We have award winning Vermont Feta in the cheese cooler from Boston Post Dairy….
As always, we have a full selection of our pastured meats, eggs, local milk, yogurt and cheeses plus goodies galore from Marilyn's Kitchen. Jonathan's bread is back in stock every Saturday morning and we have new farm-made sourdough sandwich loaf that we are baking for Wednesday - come try one !
We are done with Friday nights until fall. We are resting up and planning for pizza nights which will return at the end of May. Stay tuned!!!
