All About the Grass
The grass is growing again and this week the sheep, the chickens and the cows are heading out to pasture. It’s been a long winter and the excitement about green grass is electric - for both the humans and animals. The animals are all moved daily - giving them access to fresh eats (grass for the cows and sheep and bugs and a little grass for the chickens) and helping to replenish and build the soil. They are all living their best life, gaining nutrients from the grass and adding them back at the same time. Don’t you wish we could all be so efficient?
We will be harvesting baby spinach, baby lettuce mix, arugula, tatsoi, broccoli raab, and radishes this week! We will also have Choy Sum - we really love this broccolini-like Asian green. Come try some! As always, we have a full selection of our pastured meats, eggs, local milk, yogurt and cheeses plus goodies galore from Marilyn's Kitchen.
Jonathan's bread is back in stock every Saturday morning and we have a new farm-made sourdough sandwich loaf that we are baking Wednesday - come try one ! These loaves will be fresh out of the oven mid day.
Marilyn has you covered for Mother's Day - she is taking pre-orders for the sweet treats the moms in your life love: pies, eclairs cinnamon buns for breakfast in bed. Pre-order forms will be at the store on Wednesday. Deadline to order is the end of the day Thursday.
We are done with Friday nights until fall. We are resting up and planning for pizza nights which will return at the end of May. Stay tuned!!!
