Inspiration
This time of the summer everybody here gets pretty darn tired - we have all be seeding, weeding, harvesting, pasturing, hay making, animal feeding, egg washing and generally working our tails off for many months now. When you add pizza night on top of a week’s worth of farming we can get pretty exhausted.
This past weekend was no exception - we were all tuckered out, had a full house at pizza night and then a few crew members couldn’t make it. Keelan ended up coming home at the last moment to help and we had all three kids making pizza together: Keelan rolling, Tobin on topping and Wendell on the Oven. They ended up making a record number of pizzas.
Having them all together - cooking and sharing the food we grow with our community was a reminder of why we have this crazy farm that does so many things at once - the magic of pulling all the parts of the farm together into one meal, one plate or one pizza that we can then share as a family and provide to our community is what sustains the work that we do - even in these dog days of summer. Big shout out to all of you for being an important part of that magic. Thanks.
