Hanging Out With the Garlic
Garlic Harvest is this week - always a big marker of the year and a big job. We pull it, clean it by hand, load it up, haul it and then hang it in the barn to cure. The smell in the upstairs of the barn once it is all hung is intoxicating - summer time, comfort food , pizza and pasta all in one breath.
Come visit the Cookeville Market this week - fresh greens, radishes, cucumbers, broccolini, baby zucchini, fresh garlic and onions, freshly dug new potatoes, and tomatoes! Don't forget treats from Marilyn, local cheese and farm-raised meats. Local shopping and eating in all its summer glory!
Big news this week is that whole and parted chickens are back in stock.
Join us at the farm every summer Saturday with farm to table pizza, salads and desserts. This week we welcome Mark Burds and Julia Wright -an Americana duo with remarkable talent on fiddle, banjo and guitar. Reservations Required. Call the farm at the number below or email me with "Pizza Night" in the subject line.
