Heat, Hackers and Crickets

August is trucking along. The crickets are here - rhythmically announcing the end of summer - and even though it’s hot right now the nights are cooling off and you can tell summer is waning. Another sign of approaching fall is that the summer crew will be slowly returning to college over the next few weeks - we will miss these kids so much. They have brought heart, brains and tremendous energy to the work here this summer and we are deeply grateful.

Also wanted to take a moment to acknowledge that Margaret’s email was hacked on Monday. No way to tell who got the phony urgent message about a project bid because the clever hackers erased the sent inbox as fast as they sent the emails out. A reminder that this spam stuff is way more clever than we are (especially before coffee in the morning) and if you are not sure about something don’t open it! Luckily - the system we use for this weekly newsletter was untouched.

Cookeville Market is packed with summer goodness Fresh greens,  radishes, green beans, farm grown cucumbers, broccolini,  zucchini, summer squash, cauliflower, broccoli, tomatoes, garlic, basil, new potatoes, fresh onions, our very own late season strawberries and  peaches!

And we always have treats from Marilyn (did you try her croissants last week?!!)  local cheese and our farm-raised meats, Chicken and beef are back in stock.  So many reasons to come on down to the Cookeville Market!
