Grateful Harvest

Crossing our fingers for some rain this week and chugging along with the fall harvests - we pulled a few potatoes last week (we are waiting to pull the full crop till later in the fall because the skins haven’t set yet) and we are so relieved to find that the size and yield is “ok” despite the drought - certainly nothing spectacular but we will have potatoes! It’s been a nail biter waiting to see how that crop was impacted by the drought and it was a huge relief to find those beauties hiding down in the dirt last week!

We are moving our Harvest Mini Fest to THIS Saturday - October 11 - we will be pressing cider and serving up some farm raised turkey and black bean chili and corn chowder. You can also catch us on the other side of town at the Fall Market at Miss Shannon's School in East Corinth from 10AM to 3pm. It's looking like a perfect Autumn Saturday!

The Fall Veggies are all here Cookeville Market this week...spinach, fall braising mix,  brussel sprouts, cabbages, pumpkins, assorted winter squash, sweet and hot peppers, leeks, broccolini, cauliflower,  garlic, apples, apple cider and the first of our freshly dug fall potatoes!

We always have treats from Marilyn, local cheese, our pastured eggs, and our farm-raised meats. So many reasons to come on down to the Cookeville Market! y!

Reminder that we are taking reservations for our pastured turkeys! Reserve yours today by replying to this email, stopping by the store, or going to the "sign up" page at crossmolinafarm.com! These are fresh birds and pick up is at our Cookeville Market on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.
