Last of the Grass

We moved the sheep to the pizza night field on Friday. By Monday afternoon they had grazed everything that was there and they are now on our very last section of pasture. We will be feeding hay from the end of this week straight through till next May. The rain last week was AMAZING but we are not out of the woods. We look at the 10 day forecast first thing every morning and are just hoping that we see a weather pattern change soon. In the meantime - the blue bird skies and bright fire hillsides are keeping us going…..

Despite the drought, the Fall harvest bounty continues to roll on in to the Cookeville Market this week...spinach, fall braising mix,  cabbages, pumpkins, winter squash, sweet and hot peppers, leeks, broccolini, cauliflower,  garlic, apples, apple cider and later this week the first of our freshly dug fall potatoes!

We always have treats from Marilyn, local cheese, our pastured eggs, and our farm-raised meats. So many reasons to come on down to the Cookeville Market!

On Friday - join us for an all-ages, Halloween-themed, Cookeville Coffee House with Dr. Gasp - A Vermont Folk Musician with a show that is sure to put you in the fall spirit! We will be serving a harvest dinner starting at 5:30 and the music starts at 7. Dinner will be for purchase and the music is by donation.
