It has been really, really dry - especially for the June crops like peas and brassica that really like the wet. Last year we were complaining about too much rain. Seeking balance is something we all need to work on - even the weather. Hopefully we will get some rain tonight - the big honker that Wendell caught in this photo this afternoon passed us by.
No matter what happens we have lots to look forward to this weekend - Saturday Pizza Night will feature Stove Pipe Mountain Band and Hooker Mountain Distillery. What a combo! Sounds like a Howard Frank Mosher book! Sure to be an evening of amazing music and knock out drinks created by Hooker Mountain - they grow everything they distill on their farm!
Top it off with Whoopie Pies from Pearl and Mini Strawberry Rhubarb pies from Wendell.
CSA Customers can look forward to -
Mizuma (a mild mustard green)
Butter Crunch Lettuce
Easter Egg Radish Mix
Spinach - the last of it!
Carrots are just around the corner - and cross your fingers for rain!
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
